Bohol Hotels

Bohol is an island in the Philippines, known as a wonderful seaside vacation spot. The Philippines are divided into three island groups named Luzon Regions (the northernmost), Visayas Region (in the middle) and Mindanao Region (the southernmost). Bohol is located in the middle of in the Central Visayas region. Bohol’s closest neighboring islands of any size or development are Leyte and Cebu, and its capital is Tagbilaran City.

Just four hundred miles southeast of the more well-known divers’ paradise of Boracay, Bohol is more renown locally than internationally. While Boracay is just five miles wide and filled with tourists, the island of Bohol is an oval about 50 miles wide and 75 miles long. The diving spots on Bohol are numerous and easy to reach, and with its beautiful white beaches, Bohol is one of the many burgeoning vacation hotspots in the Philippines. Bohol is also the location of the weird and wild Chocolate Hills, a center for the preservation of the endangered Philippine tarsiers, and Balicasag Island fish sanctuary. Bohol is also filled with boat offering whale and dolphin watching tours, popular with both residents and visitors. From March to June is the best time for the excursions, especially for whale watchers, but dolphins are generally around throughout the year.

Right next to Bohol, at the southwest tip of the island, are the bridges leading to the smaller resort island of Panglao, just a 30-minute drive away from Tagbilaran City.
