About one hour’s flight due south of Manila, in the Philippines, lies the resort island of Boracay. Five miles long and one mile wide, the little island is lined with beautiful beaches of fine white sand, and remarkable diving excursions are always available nearby. The island is covered with hotels, and many of them set up lounge chairs in the sand just a few steps away from their entrances. The busiest beach on Boracay is White Beach, stretching for a miles on the western coast of the island. From November to April is the dry season, and White Beach is usually very calm at this time. The eastern side of Boracay has heavy winds and high surf, making it the best place for wind surfing and surfboarding. The rainy season lasts from June to October, and it reverses this situation. Typhoons can blow through at this time, and White Beach usually gets high winds and rough surf that make it too risky for swimming.
When the sun goes down, you can enjoy the Boracay nightlife. Restaurants, bars and nightclubs throng the island, and offer food, drink and fun until sunrise. When you visit Boracay, try taking a boat tour around the island, or rent a horse and take rides over the hills inland. Take time to visit Puka Beach or Bulabog Beach, have a round of golf at the great 18 hole course at the northern end of the island, or take diving classes in one of the 20 schools near White Sands Beach and learn how to see the underwater wonders in the nearby coral reefs!

It has a salt-water pool of 18 meters, and it is famous as a honeymoon destination. Families with children are also welcome.
