| South of Manila
is the province of Aklan, located in the Western Visayas
region. Its capital, Kalibo, is the oldest town in the province.
Aklan is the home province of Boracay, a 7-kilometer
powdery white coral sand beach famous worldwide. It is the province's
top tourist destination. Aklan is also the site of the world-renowned
Ati-Atihan Festival held in January.

BORACAY ISLAND
A tropical island paradise known all over the world for its powdery
sparkling white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and very rare
gleaming white puka shells, said to be the best in the world.
JAWILI FALLS (Tangalan)
A seven-basin tiered waterfall, the highest tier of which is 100
meters high. Each basin is a swimming area.
AROMA BEACH (Kalibo)
A long, grey beach with fine sand.

Has a monument signifying the heroic stand of Aklanons during World
War II.
IGNITO CAVE (Caticlan)
A dripstone cave, discovered in late 1966, which is also known as
Elephant Cave.
TINAGONG BEACH (Batan)
A sea hidden from the bay by two islands.
TULINGON CAVE
Believed to be one of the longest in the country, stretching for
20 kilometers from Nabas town to Pandan, Antique.
TINDOG FALLS (Madalag)
Known for its unique basin, which is located above instead of below
the falls.
CAMP VERDE (Tangalan)
A 1,348-meter reforestation area
OB-OB HILL (Batan)
At an altitude of 200 meters, it stands like a lighthouse facing
the Sibuyan Sea.
INGUS-INGUS HILL (Buruanga)
An elevated mass of rocks overlooking the sea on three sides. It
has a cave underneath where, according to tales, pirates waited
to prey on Spanish galleons from Mexico.
MANDUYOG HILL (Banga)
A 183-meter high hill with life-sized Stations of the Cross winding
up the hillside to a chapel at the summit.
ATI-ATIHAN FESTIVAL -third
week of January
A Mardi Gras-type of celebration of the feast of Santo Niño,
Kalibo´s patron saint. The festival features the Kalibo natives,
as well as domestic and foreign tourists masquerading as Negritos,
imitating aboriginal dances on streets around the town plaza.
